We have identified the materials with the best properties.
The additive, which contains 100% synthetic cut nonwoven fabric and shredded, cut synthetic fibers, results in several beneficial effects when mixed into the sand of the riding arena surface. One of its most notable properties is its ability to absorb a large amount of water due to its fiber structure. As a result, in cases of heavy precipitation, puddles and mud spots do not form, and the arena is almost immediately usable after rain.
In dry weather, the stored water prevents dust formation, and the soil requires much less frequent watering. This reduces the time spent on arena maintenance, allowing riders to use the arena longer in the fall and sooner in the spring. Additionally, the textile additive results in a uniform, flexible surface, preventing the formation of deep ruts and hoof prints. This well-structured soil reduces the strain on our horses' joints and ligaments, which helps to decrease the risk of injuries and accidents.
From feedback, we know that the additive has had a very positive effect in cases of musculoskeletal problems resulting from poor soil usage. Since we use only synthetic textiles, the material is extremely durable, does not rot, and does not produce bacteria or mold from decay that could easily infect our horses. The incorporation process is very simple, whether for renovating existing arena surfaces or for constructing new ones. The indoor arena requires 1.5-2 kg per square meter, while the outdoor arena needs 2.5-3 kg per square meter of the additive, which is packaged in bales of 200-250 kg.

The above was written in 2009. Over the past 13 years, our additive has been used satisfactorily in approximately 400 riding arenas in Hungary and neighboring countries. Due to several recent negative experiences, it is important to note that our premium textile additive, manufactured to the same high quality as those from major foreign producers, is not the same as the material made from shredded used clothing, which is prepared for disposal or incineration and sold as riding arena textile.
